What are the Entry Requirements?

You should have a flair for mathematical calculations and an interest in the business world. It is essential that you enjoy calculations and feel a sense of pride in producing accurate numerical answers. Students should have the normal college entry requirements with a minimum grade B in GCSE Maths. Accounting is often described as boring, that is not necessarily the case but it doesn’t suit everyone and you should ensure that the subject is the right choice for you.
How will I be Assessed

Both units are assessed by 90 minute examinations, unit one is taken in January and unit two is taken in June.

Most of the questions require calculations although there are some written answers requiring the ability to explain and assess accounting terms and issues coherently.

What are the Costs?
There are no costs for this qualification
Future Opportunities?

The course will be useful for anyone entering the world of business and for anyone considering setting up their own business. Any student of business or economics will find an accounting background useful. You will have a head start to the further study of accountancy at either degree level or one of the professional accounting bodies.
